SP Hill, Minnesota Complete $2,000,000 Deal

The Minnesota Loons have called a press conference later today to announce the signing of starting pitcher Ed Hill to a 4-year, $2,000,000 contract.
Both Hill and the Loons are said to be very pleased to come to this agreement.
Lifetime Hill has registered a 37-29 record with a 3.72 ERA.

RP Vargas Agrees to $1,800,000, 3-Year Offer from Dallas

Team insiders were tight-lipped prior to today's deal that brought 32-year-old reliever Carlos Vargas to Dallas.
Vargas is considered one of the league's A-list players and certainly will enhance any chances the Texans have to win a playoff spot this year.
Vargas's career numbers include 75 appearances, 4 wins, 10 losses, 8 saves, 133.2 IP, 170 strikeouts and an ERA of 4.98.

Benders Agrees to 1-Year Pact with Seattle Gulls

Veteran reliever Jonathan Benders put the finishing touches on a deal with the Gulls today, agreeing to a $472,000, 1-year pact.
Fans were generally receptive to the deal.
Since he broke in, Benders has picked up 55 wins and 54 losses with 68 saves. He has posted a 3.69 ERA and recorded 668 strikeouts in 796.2 innings.
