5-for-5 Day for Wheatley Saturday, August 14th , 2021 Who needs batting practice? Apparently not Miami Sun Sox third baseman Joe Wheatley, who missed the team's pre-game session but peppered the visiting Dallas Texans for 5 hits come game time. The Sun Sox went on to take the 13-0 win. "I was late to the park and I wasn't sure coach was even going to keep me in the lineup," he told the press after the game. "Maybe I should skip BP more often." Joe Wheatley singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Dusty Lang in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and singled in the 6th.
