Veteran SS Ruiz Settles on Pilots

Sportswriters, fans and team officials watched today as 34-year-old shortstop Eduardo Ruiz committed to a $1,300,000, 3-year deal with the Atlanta organization.
Some openly worry that despite his talent, Ruiz is too old to get it done anymore and that his value to the club will sharply diminish before the 3-year agreement has run its course.
Ruiz is hitting the ball at a .261 clip over his career. In 413 games he has delivered 372 hits, 11 home runs with 133 RBIs and scored 138 times.

LF Park Reaches Agreement with Blackhawks

Team insiders were tight-lipped prior to today's deal that brought 26-year-old left fielder Howie Park to Chicago.
Park is considered one of the league's A-list players and certainly will enhance any chances the Blackhawks have to win a playoff spot this year.
In his career, Park has accumulated a .307 batting average with 500 hits. His totals include 67 doubles, 4 triples, 96 home runs, 377 strikeouts, 229 runs scored, 272 RBIs and a lifetime .371 OBP.
