Bad News for D.C., Rick Hynes Hurt Friday, September 4th , 2026 The doctors have spoken and Rick Hynes of the D.C. Potomacs didn't like what he heard. The 29-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Hynes sustained his season-ending injury during the Albany Senators game yesterday at Ballpark of the Potomac. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the D.C. medical staff reported Hynes had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4 months. Hynes has gone 10-4 this season with an ERA of 3.16 and 135 strikeouts in 133.2 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .220 against him. |
