The 30-year-old hurler finished the year 18-8 for the Las Vegas Rollers, piling up 209.1 innings, registering 189 strikeouts and walking 86 on his way to a solid 2.97 ERA. He received 16 first place votes out of a possible 20. Fidel Santiago of the Vacaville Steelheads finished second in voting, while Joe Webb of the Green Bay Braves finished third with 1 first place vote.
