Thompson Is WSPC's Best Rookie Monday, November 2nd , 2026 The outstanding Western Semi-Pro Circuit newcomer for 2026 has been selected and the trophy goes to Vacaville second baseman Jaden Thompson. He received the Rookie of the Year Award on the strength of his fine performance this season. It was a season to remember for the 25-year-old Steelheads rookie. He wrapped up his first year with a .285 batting average, 23 doubles, 4 triples and 7 home runs. Thompson also had 66 RBIs and scored 71 times. He received 16 first place votes out of a possible 20. Omar Villalobos of the Edmonton Drillers finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Agustin Molina of the Vacaville Steelheads finished third with 1 first place vote.
