Big Day with Bat: Rodriguez 5-for-7
The Ottawa Capitals stopped the Newark Eagles by a score of 8-7 at Capitals Stadium, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Jonathan Rodriguez. The 28-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Rodriguez said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Rodriguez did just that in his 7 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Eagles.

"Not much that I can say," offered Newark manager Ben Heiser. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
