Union Zierer Fans 15 Sun Sox
Saturday, September 27th , 2025
Everything was working for Jason Zierer at Sun Sox Stadium. He had the perfect delivery. The ball was moving. The curveball was working.
In an unforgettable performance, the 26-year-old Zierer fanned 15 Sun Sox and sparked the 6-1 Chicago Union victory over Miami. He left Sun Sox hitters mumbling and muttering at the plate. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it.
"I don't know if there are many times that I've seen him throw better," said Chicago manager Ron Chiu. "His location and command were really something."
In addition to collecting 15 strikeouts over 9 innings, Zierer allowed 3 hits and 4 walks in a superlative outing.
"I thought I'd make it easy on the guys today," Zierer said with a smile.
In 22 starts this season, Zierer has chalked up a 14-4 record and a 3.12 ERA.
