"Corey was just locating so well and using his pitches," Los Angeles manager Steve Finley said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate." Martin recorded 14 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing. "When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Vancouver manager Vancouver Caretaker said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him." This year, Martin has made 21 starts, thrown 168.2 innings, fanned 199 batters and walked 35. His won-lost record is 9-8 with a 2.88 ERA.
