The Denver Cutthroats picked up a win at Everything's Bigger in Texas Ballpark, dropping the Dallas Texans, 5-2. Daniel Sainato, who is tied for 3rd in the WC with a 1.11 WHIP, was the difference-maker. Garrett Vogt notched his 4th save in 10 chances. Denver is now 47-41, Dallas 44-44.
Denver used a clutch at-bat from Matt Kelly to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Cutthroats ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Said losing manager Christopher Johnson: "Give the Cutthroats credit. They played a better game than we did."
