Shamrocks Post 3-2 Win Over New York City
|
The Boston Shamrocks tallied a win at Damar Park, throttling the New York City Gothams, 3-2. Starting pitcher Glenn Fannin was a big reason for his team's success. Fannin got the win, improving to 5-4. He gave up 3 hits and walked 4 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Raquel Lobato earned the save, his 14th in 18 tries.
David Miles, who is tied for 4th in the EC in home runs with 18, had a direct impact on the outcome. Miles contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Boston up, 3-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Boston manager Kevin Read said.
With the victory, the Shamrocks upped their record to 47-35.
