Motors Squeeze By Boston, 8-7
|
Boston center fielder Tamotsu Nishimura had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Nishimura was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs, even as Detroit beat the Shamrocks, 8-7. Jaiden LeFlore came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 6-3. Detroit is now 42-36, Boston 46-32.
Huibert Zwiers delivered a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth to win it for the Motors. For the game, Zwiers went 1 for 3 with a walk, while adding 4 RBI.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Zwiers said in his postgame press conference.
