Fans watched the El Paso Diablos and the San Francisco Peanuts fight to the finish.

The El Paso Diablos racked up a win at Inferno Field, bumping off the San Francisco Peanuts, 7-6. Steve Gallien, who started for El Paso, pitched effectively for his team. Gallien got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 4 hits and walked 4 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Tetsuhiro Kawakami picked up the save for El Paso, his 5th of the year.

The Peanuts had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Diablos going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old right fielder Eric Eriksen came to the plate. Eriksen hit a 2-run home run on a 0-1 fastball from San Francisco hurler Kevin Keeth. It was Eriksen's 18th home run of the year.

"Steve was hitting his spots and everything had life," said El Paso manager Joe Peters.

El Paso is first in the Western Circuit with a record of 47-24.
