The Denver Cutthroats and Arizona Suns provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Arizona Suns faced a tough opponent in Denver pitcher Ki-tae Jung, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Cutter's Cove by a final score of 3-2. Jung went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Arizona reliever John Leew picked up the win, raising his record to 3-1. Junro Yano was tagged with the loss. Omar Thomas nailed down his 11th save.
Malachi Cureton delivered a big hit for Arizona. The third baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Suns ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
Cureton attributed the win to "an all-around good team performance."
Arizona is 27-35 and Denver, with the loss, 34-28.
