Shamrocks Net 5-4 Win Over Lions
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Boston Shamrocks and St. Louis Lions.
St. Louis got a decent performance from pitcher Benno de Smit, but it wasn't enough to beat the Boston Shamrocks. Boston won the The Lions Hearth contest, 5-4. de Smit threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Glenn Fannin earned the win for Boston. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 2-3. Evan McRae sewed up the save, his 4th.
It could have been a different outcome for Boston, had it not been for Jack Parsons, the 25-year old catcher . Parsons contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Boston up, 3-0.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Parsons.
Boston has now won 3 straight, while the Lions have lost 3 in a row.
