No one was more impactful than Carlos Rice in the 7-5 New York City win over St. Louis. Rice, who is tied for 10th in the EC in RBI with 28, went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Jian-gun Fou got the win, improving to 5-2. He worked 7 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 4. Picking up the save was 31-year old right-handed pitcher Dave McKissick.

It could have been a different outcome for New York City, had it not been for Christian DeJesus, the two-time All-Star . DeJesus contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put New York City up, 7-5.

"I was able to square up some pitches," said Rice.

The setback makes St. Louis 28-16.
