The Denver Cutthroats had to overcome a good performance from Houston pitcher Yasusaburo Kunishige to claim a 3-2 win at Cutter's Cove. Kunishige went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Denver, at 28-26, occupies 6th place in the Western Circuit.

Matt Jackson drove in one run for Denver. The 30-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Yasusaburo Kunishige. It was his 17th RBI of the season.

"Every loss hurts," said Houston manager Eric Hartman. "But this was a tough one."
