Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Garibaldi's Grounds.

Los Angeles beat San Francisco at Garibaldi's Grounds, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to first baseman Melvin Alvarez. He went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Quincy Brooks, 2-4, earned the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2 innings.

Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Hitomaro Takemura to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Knights on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We earned that one," said Takemura.

The Knights go to 18-29 with the win.
