In a low-scoring contest between the Denver Cutthroats and the Las Vegas Aces, 28-year old right-handed pitcher Jouko Niemelä proved to be the difference. The Denver right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Cutthroats win. Junro Yano picked up his 4th save of the season. The Cutthroats raised their record to 20-16.

The Cutthroats picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.

"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Niemelä. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
