Ryan Merrill did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to spare the San Diego Roadrunners an extra-inning, 8-7 loss to the San Francisco Peanuts at Garibaldi's Grounds. Merrill was 2 for 6 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The second-place Peanuts now have a record of 23-10.

Sergio Peniche delivered a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 12th to win it for the Peanuts. For the game, Peniche was 1-4 with a double and a walk.

"This house was rockin'," Peniche said.
