The Los Angeles Knights got a marvelous performance from pitcher Pete Townsend. The left-hander kept the San Francisco offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-2 Los Angeles victory at Camelot. Townsend, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 11, walking 5, and allowing no runs. With the loss, San Francisco sinks to 1-2.

The Knights benefited from an error in the bottom of the first inning. Los Angeles was leading 1-0 when Marco Camacho hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Los Angeles in front, 3-0.

"I thought we played a nice game," Camacho told the Los Angeles Bulletin. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
