The Chicago Union spoiled a good performance by Philadelphia designated hitter Alan Calloway, bumping off Philadelphia, 7-4, at Keystones Stadium. Calloway was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Jason McNeal sewed up the save, his 4th. After today's action, Chicago sits at 14-4, while Philadelphia falls to 4-14.

Joel Peterson came through with a big-time hit for Chicago. The first baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
