Olaf Hoffman pitched well, but his team, the San Diego Roadrunners, still dropped a 3-2 decision to the Minnesota Loons at The Asylum at Loons Ballpark. The Roadrunners, now 4-12, continue their slow start.

In the bottom of the fifth, Scott Poppe delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Minnesota center fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the Loons in front, 3-2.

"The other side played a good game," said San Diego manager Larry Link. "You tip your cap to them."
