Chicago Union starter Jason Zierer kept the Washington Warriors hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 7-0 win. Zierer, now 3-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 11, walking 1, and allowing no runs. To call the performance of the 3-12 Warriors woeful so far is an understatement.

Chicago used the hitting of Sam Chapman to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put the Union on top, 2-0. For the game, Chapman had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"I think it just wasn't our night," said Washington skipper Carson Edwards.
