Aces Get One-Run Win at Los Angeles
Los Angeles catcher Mario Berlanga had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-5, to Las Vegas at Camelot. Berlanga was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Ron Mackowski, who finished 4th in the EC in innings pitched with 167.1 in 2022, was the winning pitcher. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 4 hits, with 4 walks and 2 strikeouts. The save was credited to Chad Pryor, his 1st.

It could have been a different outcome for Las Vegas, had it not been for Marco Llamas, the 34-year old shortstop . Llamas contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning to put Las Vegas up, 4-2.
