El Paso Drops Houston in Pitchers' Duel
The El Paso Diablos earned a close win over the Houston Mavericks, thanks in part to Jason Roether. The El Paso right-hander, who finished 5th in the EC in wins with 13 in 2021, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Ken Trombley finished the game for El Paso and earned his 5th save. The Diablos keep rolling, raising their record to 11-3.

The Diablos got a big at-bat from catcher Jung-won Im. For the game, Im was 1 for 3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave El Paso a 2-0 lead.
