Minnesota pitcher Ernesto Calderon did his part in helping his team defeat the San Diego Roadrunners, 3-0. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Bryan Brown recorded his 1st save for Minnesota. Now 4-9, the Roadrunners have not played well this season.

Calderon, who dominated for Minnesota, earned the victory to move to 2-1. He was in control the whole game, scattering 2 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 6. San Diego batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.

"I felt good out of the gates," said Calderon.
