The New York City Gothams weathered a fine game by Miami left fielder Tony Ames to upend the Sun Sox, 7-5, at Sun Sox Stadium. Ames went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 3 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Dave McKissick, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 2.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The Sun Sox fall to 5-7 and continue their rocky start to the 2025 season.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Dennis Hill? The New York City third baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the 15th inning to put the Gothams on top, 6-5. For the game, Hill had 1 double and 1 single in 7 at-bats.
