Game 5 was big. So was Ivan Palafox.

The San Francisco starter rose to the occasion at The Asylum at Loons Ballpark, leading the Peanuts to a crucial 5-2 victory over the Minnesota Loons. Palafox threw 9.0 innings of 7-hit ball as the Peanuts won on the road to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 Play-in Series.

San Francisco used a clutch at-bat from Magtanggol Arriba to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Peanuts ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I was determined to go the distance," said Palafox.

Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday at Garibaldi's Grounds in San Francisco.
