Union, Titans Play 12 to Settle Game 1, Chicago Now Leads Series 1-0
One game in and the Cup Qualifier is already looking exhausting.

The Chicago Union and the Toronto Titans needed 12 innings to settle Game 1, with the Union finally taking the 3-2 victory at Titans Fields. Excelling in the win was Chicago pitcher Jason Zierer, who threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball. The Union and Titans are playing a best-of-7 series.

Sam Chapman came through with a big-time hit for Chicago. The designated hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Toronto skipper Chris Barrett, "and it cost us."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Titans Fields in Toronto.
