Edmonton third baseman Ashton Shelton had a fantastic day at the plate at Moose Grounds, knocking out 5 hits and pacing his club to a win, 10-5.

"It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Shelton said after his 5-for-5 performance against the Moose. "No offense meant to Saskatoon, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid park, it was Moose Grounds."

After the game, his manager elaborated on the third baseman's improvements, saying Shelton spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.

"That's what I'm trying to do," Shelton said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."

Ashton Shelton doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.

This year, Shelton has hit 14 home runs and posted a .271 batting average.
