The Calgary Caracals ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Detroit Chargers 8-1 to win the SPBC Classic Series.

Calgary won the series 4-2, capturing the title for the 2nd time.

"We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said Calgary manager Bert Collier. "It's a great feeling."

The champs finished the regular season 90-72 and claimed first place in the Western Semi-Pro Circuit.

In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and third baseman Adam Shepard said the Caracals have "great fans and they deserve this."

"I am so happy for our city right now," he said.
