Miami (R)'s Vasquez Down with Injury Monday, September 12th , 2022 The doctors have spoken and Pedro Vasquez of the Miami (R) Sun Sox didn't like what he heard. The 19-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Vasquez sustained his season-ending injury during the Boston (R) Shamrocks game yesterday at PBC Rookie Development Complex. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Miami (R) medical staff reported Vasquez had radial nerve compression and would be absent from the lineup for at least 9 months. During this season, Vasquez has delivered 4 saves. In 22 relief appearances, he has 22 strikeouts in 28 innings with a 9.00 ERA and no wins and 4 losses. |
