Saskatoon, Ottawa Confirm Swap Saturday, December 24th , 2022 You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you find a deal anyway. The Baseball News Network is reporting that Saskatoon and Ottawa have made a swap with 26-year old LF Tony Lewis being shipped to the Capitals and in return the Moose would get 31-year old LF Raul Sanchez. Saskatoon general manager said the two sides were close to a blockbuster trade before agreeing upon a smaller scale transaction. "This is just a bit of housekeeping compared to what we wanted to do," he said. "I won't name names, but the potential deal we were close to making would have certainly grabbed some headlines." A source inside the Saskatoon organization said the two sides might not be done dealing, and another transaction could be in the works. Lewis has a career .241 average with 97 hits, 16 doubles, 4 triples, 10 home runs, 43 RBIs, and 50 runs scored to date. |
