No Late-Season Magic Coming: Houston Out of Playoffs Saturday, September 25th , 2021 It's now time for the Houston Mavericks to start turning their attention to what can be done to help improve the club for next season. The team was formally eliminated from playoff contention today for the 2021 season. "We knew a title was a long shot at this point, but mentally there's a big difference between a tiny chance and no chance at all," said Mavericks reliever Jayden Johnson. Houston last appeared in the postseason in 2016. This is their 5th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 10 times in their 22-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Mavericks have made the playoffs 6 times. Houston has won the Pro Circuit Cup 3 times in their history. |
