Zwiers Raises Awareness at Local Animal Shelter Wednesday, September 22nd , 2021 Motors center fielder and noted animal rights activist Huibert Zwiers appeared at a local animal shelter today. Zwiers visited the shelter to help call attention to the cause of pet adoption. "These animals desperately need to be taken in by loving families," said the popular Detroit player as he cradled a small puppy. "Many of these little guys were unwanted and abandoned. I just want to use my status in the community to help find good homes for them." Zwiers, who is a member of PETA, has long been a spokesman for the organization and is a noted advocate for animal protection. |
