Chicago Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in PIS
The Chicago Union silenced the St. Louis Lions to move within one game of the Cup Qualifier. The Union shut out the Lions by a final score of 7-0 at Trident Field. Chicago left-hander Heinz Brown had a strong outing. He threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Union a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Play-in Series.

Brown, who leaned on his fastball, allowed no runs on just 2 hits over 7 innings for the Union. For the most part, St. Louis hitters were simply overmatched.

"Heinz was able to execute his pitches," said Chicago manager Ron Chiu. "Simple as that."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Trident Field in Chicago.
