Play-in Series Game 1 Victory for Williams and St. Louis
The St. Louis Lions started the Play-in Series in style, downing the visiting Chicago Union at The Lions Hearth by a score of 4-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Lions right-hander Ryan Williams threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball.

Tom Abraham hit a 2-run double off Sergio Hernandez in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Lions in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, Abraham had 2 singles, while going 3 for 4.

"I told our guys, 'Runs don't score by themselves,'" said Abraham. "You need someone to get on base and someone to drive them in."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Lions Hearth in St. Louis.
