Blues Deal Sun Sox Painful Loss
The New York City Blues beat the Miami Sun Sox, 2-1, at Blues Field. Starting pitcher Mark Brown was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. New York City reliever George Spence picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Aaron Laughlin was tagged with the loss. With the win, New York City goes to 2-7.

The decisive blow was delivered by Sam Abel in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off fireballing 6' 7" right-hander Aaron Laughlin to win the game for New York City. The home crowd went nuts.

"Was I getting worried?" said Blues manager Mark Haydock. "Nope." Then he added, with a wink, "There was never a doubt in my mind."
