The El Paso Diablos stopped the Denver Cutthroats, 5-3, behind an impressive performance from Ryan Burton. The reigning Most Valuable Position Player Award winner made life miserable for Denver pitching. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Junro Yano earned the save, his 12th in 13 tries. El Paso has run its win streak to 5 consecutive.

Burton had a timely hit for El Paso in the top of the ninth. With El Paso trailing 3-2, he turned a 2-2 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season, making it 4-3, El Paso.
