Pilots Fall to .500 After 5-1 Loss to Diablos
The El Paso Diablos used the hitting of left fielder Eric Eriksen to subdue the Atlanta Pilots, 5-1. For the game, Eriksen went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. Bernie Loyola, the winner, improved to 10-3. He held the Pilots to 1 run on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. With the win over Atlanta, the Diablos improved to 38-20.

El Paso used a clutch at-bat from Jeremy Barnes to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Diablos ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Barnes told the El Paso Today.
