Kondo 3-for-5 to Light Sun Sox Fuse

The Miami Sun Sox defeated the Chicago Union, 13-5, at Sun Sox Stadium. Miami designated hitter Mitsujiro Kondo had a superb performance. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Ashton Gray. His record now stands at 4-7. The left-hander went 6 innings, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits for the Sun Sox. Miami is now 29-41, Chicago 39-31.
With Miami leading 9-5 in the bottom of the eighth, Kondo came up to bat against Chicago pitcher Matt Jacobs. Kondo hit a fastball to center for a grand slam home run. His 16th home run of the season put the Sun Sox on top, 13-5.
"Every manager loves to see an offensive outburst from his team," said Miami skipper Barry Lolicht.
