Losing Trend Continues for Denver
|
The St. Louis Lions and starting pitcher Ron Clous stifled the Denver offense en route to a comfortable 8-2 win at Cutter's Cove. The second-place Lions have won 5 consecutive games.
St. Louis used the hitting of Matt Weber to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Lions on top, 7-0. For the game, Weber had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
Said losing manager Tyler Montgomery: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
