Knights Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The performance of Jon Piotraschke proved critical in helping Los Angeles beat Las Vegas, 7-6, in 10 innings. The Knights shortstop went 4-5 with 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Los Angeles reliever Nick Jones picked up the win, raising his record to 1-2. Billy Morris was tagged with the loss. Las Vegas, at 12-14, has lost 5 straight.
Los Angeles used the timely hitting of J.J. D'Avignon to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Knights on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Piotraschke told the Los Angeles News.
