Runs were scarce at Inferno Field.

In a low-scoring tilt between the El Paso Diablos and the Los Angeles Knights, 26-year old right-handed pitcher Bernie Loyola was the difference-maker. The El Paso right-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. Loyola yielded no runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-1.

The Diablos got a big at-bat from shortstop Shaun Dunham. For the game, Dunham went 1-2 with a double and 2 walks. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave El Paso a 1-0 lead.

"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Loyola.

Los Angeles is now 4-10.
