Los Angeles Defeated by El Paso, 7-4
|
El Paso Diablos starter Jason Roether pitched effectively against the Los Angeles Knights at Inferno Field. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 7-4 win. In 6 innings, Roether surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed 4 runs. Omar Thomas earned the save for El Paso, his 1st of the year.
In the bottom of the fifth, Eddie Martinez delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the El Paso second baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Diablos in front, 7-4.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Roether said.
The Knights, 4-9, continue their poor start to the 2021 campaign.
