5-Hit Blitz by Saskatoon's Murphy Saturday, September 14th , 2019 It seemed that Saskatoon left fielder Mike Murphy could do no wrong as the Moose KO'd the Drillers, 14-2. Murphy rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Drillers hurlers were throwing. "I think the Moose were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Edmonton fan after the game. "I felt good. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Murphy in the postgame press interview. Mike Murphy hit a two-run single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 8th. Murphy is hitting .330 this year with 11 home runs and 46 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .384, 25 walks and scored 39 times. View Boxscore |
