Maguire Casts Spell Over D.C., as Tigers Win Sunday, August 25th , 2019 John Maguire bent a little, but he didn't break against the D.C. Potomacs. The Hamilton Tigers pitcher hurled a 4-hit, 4-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering 1 walk and tallying 5 strikeouts. "John is good at getting out of jams," Tigers manager Pat McDowell told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you." This year, Maguire has recorded a 13-8 mark.
