Vacaville-Calgary Deal Confirmed Monday, July 29th , 2019 It likely won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the Vacaville Steelheads and Calgary Caracals finalized a trade today. Vacaville will send 21-year old minor league CF Antonio Gonzalez, 24-year old minor league RHP Andy Dixon, and 21-year old minor league CF Gabe Cabell to the Caracals, while the Steelheads will receive 28-year old RHP R.J. Bizjak and 22-year old minor league LF Marco Santiago. "We think this is a deal that will help out both teams and we're glad to get it done," Steelheads general manager Chris Floyd said. The trade is expected to be officially completed later today with the players joining their new ballclubs by the end of the day. This season, Bizjak has logged 1 save. He has thrown 41.1 innings, dished out 61 strikeouts and walked 19 while putting up a 0-3 mark and a 3.92 ERA. |
