WSPC Best Newcomer Award Hauled in by Shaw Sunday, October 27th , 2019 This year's outstanding rookie has been chosen and the honor goes to Saskatoon second baseman Jon Shaw. He received the 2019 Western Semi-Pro Circuit Rookie of the Year Award for his consistent play and solid numbers. He finished the regular season with a .270 batting average, 26 doubles, 4 triples and 24 home runs. The 26-year-old Shaw also had 78 RBIs and scored 90 times. He received 20 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Dimitrije Zecevic of the Edmonton Drillers finished second in voting, while Steven Hawtin of the Edmonton Drillers finished third.
